Valeria Valentina Bolívar is a Venezuelan-born director, screenwriter, and producer currently living in the Dominican Republic. Her passion lies in storytelling through images and sounds that touch the heart, body, and soul of her audience. She worked as an assistant director on notable Venezuelan feature films such as Azul y no tan rosa (Blue and Not So Pink) (2012) and Pelo malo (Bad Hair) (2013). In 2011, she completed advanced studies in filmmaking at the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños. Her short film Extraños (2013) was featured in both national and international festivals and was screened in Venezuelan commercial theaters in 2015. In 2013, she founded the production company Producciones Petanina, now based in Santo Domingo. Her latest short film, El niño (The Child), premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival and is currently touring the international festival circuit. Valeria is now developing her debut fiction feature, Los sin nombre (The Nameless).
